Trial By YouTube: Mainstream Media Use Second-hand Oregon Account to Cast Blame on Dead Rancher

There exists a famous quote often attributed to 1918 US Senator Hiram Warren Johnson, who once said, ‘The first casualty when war comes is truth.’ The same could be said for Waco, or Ruby Ridge – or with the federal government’s version of recent events in Burns, Oregon.
What really happened on Highway 395? We’re not sure yet, but in the meantime, it seems as if the mainstream media have already decided who is guilty and and who is not.
Regarding the Tuesday evening’s events at the Oregon Standoff, where federal agents shot and killed rancher Robert ‘Lavoy’ Finicum, a campaign of disinformation appears to be rapidly underway. The following is a prime exhibit of how the mainstream media can spin a story to favor the government version of events.
The Washington Post’s brash headline reads, ‘Report: LaVoy Finicum, armed with a handgun, reached for his waistband just before he was shot.’
In the absence of any actual evidence, or even analysis to support this deceptive headline, instead Washington Post writer Mike Miller attempts to weave together a classic example of yellow journalism.
Any speculation or public skepticism could be easily put to rest by the FBI releasing all video footage of the event in question.

George Soros Finally Suspends His Lifelong War Against Russia

On January 21st, George Soros, who has throughout his life been passionately opposed not just to communism but also to Russia, has finally stated in a Bloomberg News interview at the World Economic Forum, that the United States (and possibly the EU, but he says that the EU is in terrible economic shape itself) must now fund a new Marshall Plan for all of Europe, including, this time, even his bte noire: Russia.
However, is he ending, or merely suspending, his lifelong war against Russia? Let’s look at the evidence, including the background for his comments here – the crucial background in order to understand his statement is provided in the links here:
Previously, he had been urging both the United States and the EU to pump variously $20 billion (in some of his articles) to $50 billion (in others) more into Ukraine’s war to seize back control over Ukraine’s former regions of Crimea and of Donbass, both of which had voted overwhelmingly (75 % in Crimea and over 90 % in Donbass) for the democratically elected Ukrainian President, Viktor Yanukovych, whom Obama overthrew on 20 February 2014 in a bloody staged coup whose gunmen were mainly from Ukraine’s two racist-fascist or ideologically Nazi parties and were all paid by the US via laundered funds through the CIA. Those two regions of Ukraine are strongly pro-Russian and anti-Nazi – they were anti-Nazi in World War II, and are anti-Nazi today.
However, now that the US-led effort to re-arm the Ukrainian government that it had installed, and to enable them to go to war yet a second time, attempting to seize (or reabsorb) Crimea and Donbass, has failed, and US President Barack Obama has thus at least temporarily given up in all but rhetoric his determination to enable Ukraine to crush those regions, George Soros is stepping back in.

What is the leading edge of consciousness?

Long ago, in another life as a student, the answer to that question was never clear to me, nor did I even consider the question, because I was busy trying to make sense of the history of Western philosophy.
But in the decade-long lead-up to authoring my three Matrix collections, the question became very important. It split into two parts:
Was the ultimate in consciousness something a person plugged into, like a cosmic lamp, a reality that was already sitting there, waiting to be discovered?
Or was it something a person invented?
The second alternative, of course, is not a popular position.
Herds and flocks and squads of people are on the move, searching for the cosmic lamp. Or they’re avidly plugging themselves into some familiar religion or spiritual system.
They’re looking for authoritative content, the way an archeologist looks for a lost city, or on a lesser level, the way a chef looks for the best recipe for gnocchi.

US GOVERNMENT MURDERING AMERICANS WITH IMPUNITY: LAVOY FINICUM JUST LATEST EXAMPLE

Americans are slowly waking up to living under the supervision of a tyrannical police state.
Americans at home and abroad are finding their biggest threat is their own government which, bankrupt beyond measure (the most indebted country in human history), is doing what many governments do when they run out of money… imprisoning and killing many of its own citizens in an attempt to retain power.
When the Pentagram is not blowing up wedding parties of women and children in Afghanistan and Syria, US federal and local police are involved in the same kinds of assaults domestically via SWAT teams and shoot-to-kill criminal assaults. Homeland Security has provided police forces around the country with the latest in military gear that has been ‘cast off’ by US overseas troops.
This time it was the FBI in concert with the Oregon police who killed Lavoy Finicum in cold blood (while many in the country cheered, which is truly the scary part).
Finicum was shot after he drove off the road into deep snow to avoid hitting several cars placed in the road by the FBI and Oregon police. A video taken from a low flying plane shows Finicum getting out of the car with his hands up and then reaching down toward his waist, at which point he is shot and killed by overseers (officers) surrounding him.
The issue was about the federal government’s claim of Western lands. Altogether the US federal government claims up to one-third or more of the entire US, mostly in the West. There is no constitutional provision for federal land ownership and many federal claims are disputed by local residents.

A Tale of Cattle, Sage Grouse, and Uranium in Oregon

Once there was a cowboy who let his herd of cattle roam free on thousands of acres of wilderness. He knew that they would live in harmony with the other critters, and that the land would benefit. He made sure that there was plenty of water and plenty of room so that the land would flourish. You see, if given enough room, critters are good for the land. They eat the overgrown forage and leave behind fertilizer that helps new forage to grow, which nourishes every other critter. Each critter has enough room to get out of the other one’s way, and everyone is happy.
That is, until the government in its infinite ‘scientific’ wisdom, decides that cattle are bad for the land.
But is that the real reason that cattle ranching, as it has been done for over a hundred years, is now scheduled to become obsolete? A thing of the past – something to be disdained and thrown to the curb?
Picture a pristine wilderness devoid of the ravages of civilization and industrial development. Birds flying overhead and deer roaming free. Paradise as far as the eye can see. And in the middle of this haven designated as ‘public lands’ set apart to be protected by the benevolence of the Federal Government’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM), is an open pit uranium mine.
Say what??? You have got to be kidding me! Nope. This is what the BLM has on the back burner for the Malheur Wilderness area.

GANG OF MASKED SWEDES ATTACK MIGRANT CHILDREN IN STOCKHOLM

There’s no doubt that the migrant crisis is contributing to the breakdown of society in Europe, but it isn’t just the migrants who are contributing to social upheaval. The lack of legal response to what the migrants have done has led many Europeans to take matters into their own hands. In Sweden, this took the form of 50 masked menraiding a train station in Stockholm on Friday, to beat up the unruly Moroccan kids who live there.

The Islamization Of America In 2015, Part 2

Submitted by Soeren Kern via The Gatestone Institute,
More than half (51%) of Muslims in America believe they should “have the choice of being governed according to Sharia.” Only 39% of those polled said that Muslims in the U. S. should be subject to American courts. Nearly a quarter believed that, “It is legitimate to use violence to punish those who give offense to Islam by, for example, portraying the prophet Mohammed.”Nearly one-fifth of Muslim respondents said that the use of violence in the U. S. is justified in order to make Sharia the law of the land in this country. – Poll commissioned by the Center for Security Policy, Washington, D. C. “Ramadan is a special prayer time, a time for religion. We double-park here every Friday and they [allow it], but today they gave us all tickets, almost 100 cabs. This has never happened before. I can’t help but to think they are being prejudiced. They don’t understand. We have to be here.” – Mohammad Zaman, New York City cab driver. “We have no way … to know who these people are … we don’t have databases on these individuals so we can’t properly vet them, to know where they came from, to know what threat they pose.” – Michael McCaul, Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, commenting on the Obama administration plan to resettle Syrian refugees in the U. S.

Zika: genetically engineered mosquitoes causing smaller heads?

‘Okay, boys, here’s what we do. We’ve got this old virus called Zika. It’s been around for 60 years that we know of. It never caused anything serious. A real dud. But we’ve got to explain all these babies born with small heads and brain damage. We’ve got to protect some important people and shield them from heavy blame. So let’s bring back Zika. Even though very few mothers who give birth to babies with defects have the dud-virus, we can finesse that. People are idiots. So let’s build up Zika into a terrifying killer. Get our PR folks moving. Spread some money around. You know, the usual. And we make out on the back-end with a Zika vaccine.’
This is the third article in my series on the Zika Freakout. In my previous piece, I listed six top candidates for causing smaller heads and brain damage in Brazilian babies.
None of those candidates is the Zika virus, which has a history of creating only minor illness, at worst. My top six may, indeed, be working together to bring about disastrous consequences.
In this article, I’ll focus on one candidate, the genetically-engineered (GE) mosquitoes which have already been released in Brazil, with the aim of decimating the population of mosquitoes that carry dengue fever, Zika, yellow fever, and chikungunya.

Who are Boehner and Pelosi? : A Slough of Irrelevance

I am a reasonably retired mid-level journalist of no import but much experience, interested in international affairs, law, society, education, and political trends. Yet, God’s truth, I do not know who Boehner and Pelosi are, or were, and now somebody or something called Ryan. Yes, I know that they are in Congress, or were, but I do not know what posts they hold, or held, or in which party they are, or were, or in which house. I really do not.
How can this be? How can someone who has spent a lifetime in the fetid bubblings of the news racket, including many years in DC, be so profoundly ignorant of the most elementary of political facts? Isn’t that like a neurosurgeon who can’t find the brain?
No.
It’s simple. Congress seems to me to be of so little importance as not to merit attention. I mean this seriously. I cannot see that it matters who is on what committee or speaker of whatever or, for that matter, who wins the presidential election (unless Trump) or who is on the Supreme Court. I think I can name two of the stiffs on the Court.

Tempers Flare Anew As Turkey Accuses Russia Of Violating Airspace

Back in November, Turkey very nearly started a world war when Ankara decided it would be a good idea to shoot down a Russian warplane near the Syrian border.
Only one of the two Su-24 pilots survived after the plane was ambushed by two Turkish F-16s.
The other pilot was killed by the Syrian resistance and in a brazen move, the FSA destroyed a Russian search and rescue helicopter with a US-supplied TOW hours after the plane was downed.
That incident triggered a rather heated war of words between Ankara and Moscow, with The Kremlin launching a PR campaign that accused Turkey of aiding and abetting Islamic State by, among other things, facilitating the group’s illicit oil trafficking business.
Since then, Russia has also deployed S-400 advanced missile defense systems to Latakia which effectively means that Turkish F-16s are no longer allowed in the skies above Syria.
Well, just when you thought the tensions between Erdogan and Putin were calming down, Turkey has summoned the Russian ambassador over what Ankara claims was another violation of Turkish airspace by Russian jets.

This Bear Market Is No Grizzly From Hell… Yet

What Goes Up…
LONDON – It’s 5:30 a.m. We’re sitting in an airport in London waiting for a flight to Dublin. Around us are bleary-eyed businessmen, catching the first flight to Ireland.
On Tuesday, U. S. stocks managed to catch a break. The Dow rose 282 points – or just under 2% – despite another 6% sell-off in China. U. S. crude oil fell a bit. But it continues to trade above $30 a barrel this morning.

The Happiest Place On Earth?

…if you are an immigrant…
As OneNewsNow reports, an attorney representing laid-off Disney workers claims the Fortune 500 company broke federal laws when it replaced them with immigrants.
Attorney Sara Blackwell filed a federal lawsuit this week on behalf of two former tech employees of Disney after the corporation hired H-1B visa recipients from overseas. The employees were among approximately 250 laid off approximately a year ago, and some of them have filed complaints with the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission, The Orlando Sentinel reported.
Blackwell tells OneNewsNow she is accusing Disney of violating Title VII, which bans discrimination under the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Iran pours cold water on crude oil bulls

Word is coming down the wires today that Iran has ruled out cooperating on any potential oil production cutbacks until its own oil production returns to pre-sanctions levels. WE are talking about approximately another 1.5 million barrel/day rise from their current levels.
Prior to the sanctions, Iran was producing about 4.2 million barrels a day. Now they are at closer to 2.7 million.
That essentially negates the positive impact that might have resulted from the idea floated by the Russians yesterday of an overall 5% reduction that would be discussed in an upcoming February meeting.
Crude oil had been strongly higher all session long on the heels of the BOJ liquidity boosting measure but surrendered every bit of those gains once the Iranian oil official started yapping.

FBI Footage of Robert ‘LaVoy’ Finicum Take Down: Where’s the Gun?

Here is unedited footage released by the FBI on 1/28/2016. This is supposed to assure the public that the man they shot in Oregon on his way to a meeting to discuss a peaceful outcome to the Oregon standoff in Malheur did indeed have a gun and drew it on officers. I beg to differ.
I challenge anyone to tell me from this fuzzy video that he reached for a gun. Starting at 9 minutes 20 seconds Finicum gets out of the vehicle with his arms raised. He walks forward, then you can see his arm move towards his waist and you can see him turn. What you cannot see is a gun. It appears that he is reaching for something and at this point we don’t know what.
Things that don’t make sense: If he did indeed threaten with a gun, and it was still on his person when he fell (nothing flew from his hands) why didn’t the cops approach immediately to make sure that he did not pose a threat? Why did they wait over 10 minutes to go to the body and remove a weapon? You do not shoot someone then wait for him to die with a gun in his hand and go about your business. You remove the weapon immediately to make sure that he cannot use it before he dies.

British ‘Inquiry’ and Mainstream Media Present Conspiracy Theories in Litvinenko Case

21st Century Wire says…
Last week’s British ‘inquiry’ into the death of Alexander Litvinenko headed by Judge Robert Owen, concluded that the Kremlin ‘probably, might have’ ordered, or ‘approved’ death by Polonium 210 for the Russian defector turned MI6 super spy. Despite claims byDavid Cameron’s cabinet, the ‘explosive’ findings seem to be anything but conclusive…

Poll Shows Nearly 40% of Germans Want Merkel to Resign

As proof of how badly German chancellor Angela Merkel has handled the refugee crisis, a new Poll Shows 40 Percent of Germans want Merkel to Quit.
Nearly 40 percent of German voters think Chancellor Angela Merkel should quit over her liberal asylum policy after almost 1.1 million newcomers arrived last year, a poll showed Friday.
As the mood in Germany has shifted from a euphoric welcome for people fleeing war and persecution last September to growing doubts about the country’s ability to accommodate and integrate the record influx, the popular Merkel has come under increasing pressure.
However, the poll for Focus news magazine conducted by the independent opinion research institute Insa among 2,047 German citizens showed that a larger share — nearly 45 percent — did not think Merkel should resign.

The Civil War of the Right

The conservative movement is starting to look a lot like Syria.
Baited, taunted, mocked by Fox News, Donald Trump told Roger Ailes what he could do with his Iowa debate, and marched off to host a Thursday night rally for veterans at the same time in Des Moines.
Message: I speak for the silent majority, Roger, not you, not Megyn Kelly, not Fox News. Diss me, and I will do fine without Fox.
And so the civil-sectarian war on the right widens and deepens.
And two questions arise: Will the conservative movement and Republican Party unite behind Trump if he is the nominee? And will the movement and party come together if Trump is not the nominee?
A breakdown of the balance of forces in this civil-sectarian war finds most of the media elite of the right recoiling from Trump, while Trump leads by a huge margin in Middle America.
