It should also be said that the current US Administration is merely finishing the job which started under three consecutive two-term presidents; Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama – something to bear in mind as Trump enters his first year in office.
This new year, let us not forget who re-ignited the Middle East crisis, with the consecutive sackings of Libya and Syria…
While ‘Make America Great Again’ might be the political campaign de jour at home, these next four years are likely to coincide with an overall decline in US influence in the world.

Did Donald J. Trump have any idea about the impact his words would have across the world?!? Did he have any idea that the whole wide world, including the United Nations, would turn against him?
On Wednesday, 6 December 2017, in the White House’s Diplomatic Reception Room the President of the United States proceeded to make history, or, proceeded to leave his personal mark on the flow of world events as his words set a whole chain of global events in motion:
‘I have determined that it is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. While previous presidents have made this a major campaign promise, they failed to deliver. Today, I am delivering.’
In his preamble to this potentially explosive and arguably rather disconcerting statement, Trump explained that ‘[i]n 1995, [under Bill Clinton’s watch, that is] Congress adopted the Jerusalem Embassy Act, urging the federal government to relocate the American embassy to Jerusalem and to recognize that that city – and so importantly – is Israel’s capital. This act passed Congress by an overwhelming bipartisan majority and was reaffirmed by a unanimous vote of the Senate only six months ago.’ In this way, the 45th U. S. President showed himself to have been cut from a completely different cloth indeed, as he uttered words that neither Bill Clinton, nor George W. Bush or, more importantly perhaps, Barack Obama had dared speak.
Yes, Trump openly came out and made plain the deep love that dare not speak its name – in spite of the vehemently pro-Israel stance taken by the U. S. ever since the time of President Eisenhower (1953-61) and particularly, ever since the Six Day War (5-10 June 1967), in spite of the ceaseless activities of AIPAC and J Street, no previous incumbent had dared bestow a bona fide U. S. Embassy to Jerusalem as a physical token of the deep and ardent bonds between the New World and the Promised Land. Only, Donald J. Trump had the gall to ‘deliver,’ doing what Clinton had promised yet none of his successors had been able to realise . . . until now, that is.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has instructed DOJ prosecutors to begin asking FBI agents for explanations regarding evidence pertaining to a dormant criminal investigation into the controversial Uranium One deal linked to Bill and Hillary Clinton, according to NBC.
The order comes as part of a promise made last month by Sessions to examine whether or not a special counsel was warranted in the deal which saw 20% of American Uranium sold to a Russian state-owned energy company in a 2010 transaction allowed by the Obama administration. Prior to the deal, individual connected with Uranium One deal had donated over $140 million to the Clinton Foundation. Moreover, Bill Clinton gave a $500,000 speech to a Russian bank which issued a favorable rating on Uranium One stock. Clinton and Putin met the same day of the speech at the Russian leader’s private homestead.

An Attorney for President Trump has vehemently denied rumors that special counsel Robert Mueller will be fired over revelations of politically motivated malfeasance by the FBI towards Hillary Clinton and against Donald Trump, including disturbing text messages which were sent between top FBI investigators implying the Trump-Russia investigation may have been launched as an “insurance” policy in the event Trump won the 2016 election. Furthermore, GOP lawmakers have asserted that FBI top brass relied on a salacious and unverified “dossier” to launch the Trump-Russia investigation. Also noted by critics is the fact that Robert Mueller’s “right hand man,” Aaron Zebley represented Clinton IT staffer Justin Cooper – a Bill Clinton aide who “jerry-rigged” Hillary Clinton’s “private, illegal” server in her Chappaqua home.
Despite all of that, Trump attorney Ty Cobb told Politico, “As the White House has repeatedly and emphatically said for months, there is no consideration at the White House of terminating the special counsel.’
Earlier in the day we reported that Trump transition team attorney Kory Langhofer sent a seven-page complaint to House and Senate oversight committees investigating the 2016 election to lodge a complaint that the special counsel improperly obtained “many tens of thousands” of emails from the Trump transition team from the General Services Administration – the government agency responsible for setting up and administering the transition email system which uses a “ptt.gov” address. Kanghofer says these emails were obtained through “unlawful conduct,” and that the Trump team had been segregating emails with “Executive Privilege” in anticipation of giving the rest to Mueller’s team.
