Vanity Fair Editors Relentlessly Attacked Over “Don’t-Run-Again-Hillary” Satirical Video

It appears the McResistance is on the warpath once again, and this time they’re going after Vanity Fair, which to the surprise of many published a satirical video about Hillary Clinton’s future prospects in the days just before Christmas with the caption, “Maybe it’s time for Hillary Clinton to take up a new hobby in 2018” as part of a broader series on New Year’s resolutions.
“Take up a new hobby in the new year,” suggested Vanity Fair writer Maya Kosoff. “Volunteer work, knitting, improv comedy – literally anything that will keep you from running again.”
Editor John Kelly, meanwhile, suggested that Clinton “finally put away your James Comey voodoo doll.” And added further with cheerful snark, “We all know you think James Comey cost you the election and he might have, but so did a handful of other things. It’s a year later and time to move on.”

‘Biggest Threat’: Prosecutor Helping Robert Mueller Boasts Of ‘Legal Resistance’ To Trump

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who is reportedly assisting special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, boasted of his successful resistance to the Trump administration in a Tuesday Medium post.
Schneiderman, who could play an essential role in the disposition of Mueller’s investigation, has effectively branded as a public anti-Trump litigator during the president’s first year, in keeping with the history of hostility between the two men.
Tuesday’s Medium post accompanied a profile of Schneiderman in The New York Times, which noted that the AG lodged 100 legal or administrative challenges to administration policies during Trump’s first year in office.
Such challenges include lawsuits contesting the travel ban and rescission of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, an Obama-era amnesty policy that grants temporary status to illegal immigrants who entered the country as children.
‘We try and protect New Yorkers from those who would do them harm,’ Schneiderman told TheNYT. ‘The biggest threat to New Yorkers right now is the federal government, so we’re responding to it.’
The AG is building a political profile around his anti-Trump bona fides. Schneiderman told TheNYT that he has invested resources and personnel in anti-Trump litigation efforts, while coordinating with other Democratic state attorneys general to challenge the administration in court.
His official Twitter feed regularly features content attacking the president or promoting the AG’s litigiousness.

Why Twitter, Facebook and Google Are the Antisocial Networks

In today’s Outside the Box we resume our eight-part Strategic Investment Conference Speaker Series with my friend Niall Ferguson, senior fellow of the Hoover Institution at Stanford and the Center for European Studies at Harvard. Niall has a cautionary tale for us on the topic of social networks.
The problem, in a nutshell:
Facebook certainly made an impact last year, but not quite the impact the young Zuckerberg had in mind in his Harvard dorm. A committed believer in globalisation who tends to wear his liberal politics on his T-shirt sleeve, Zuckerberg is reeling. Not only did the masterminds behind the Brexit and Trump campaigns successfully use Facebook advertising to hone and target their ultimately victorious campaign messages; worse, the Russian government appears to have used Facebook in the same way, seeking to depress voter support for Hillary Clinton. Worse still, neo-Nazis seem to have been using the social network to spread their own distinctive brand of hate.
Niall – ever the history prof – can’t help chiding Mr. Zuckerberg on his choice of majors at Harvard:
Yet the architects of the biggest social networks to have existed should not have been surprised. If he had studied history at Harvard rather than psychology and computer science, Zuckerberg might have foreseen the ways in which Facebook and its ilk would be used and abused.

Tokyo-Bound Flight U-Turns To LAX To Remove “Unauthorized Person” Due To “Mix U

An All Nippon Airways flight en route from Los Angeles to Tokyo was forced to turn around four hours into the eleven hour journey to remove an “unauthorized person” from the flight, angering passengers who were told by the airline that passenger had a ticket for another airline.
A twitter user claiming to have been on board flight ANA 175 said that four people were questioned and detained; “1 Muslim,2 white, and 1 asian lady.”
Police said the massive U-turn was due to a “mix up, and was straightened out,” according to ABC7, and that the flight has been rescheduled to depart Wednesday morning.
Model Christine Teigen was aboard and documented the incident over Twitter.
a flying first for me: 4 hours into an 11 hour flight and we are turning around because we have a passenger who isn’t supposed to be on this plane. Why…why do we all gotta go back, I do not know

Brent Jumps After Explosion At Major Oil Pipeline In Libya

After a quiet overnight session, the price of Brent Crude spiked following news of an explosion at a Libyan crude oil pipeline that feeds the Es Sider sea terminal – home of the largest oil depot in Libya – a source from the Libyan National Army told The Libya Times Tuesday. The blast happened near 30km northwest of Marada, the source said.

Ben Garrison’s 12 Days Of Trumpmas

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and in the White House
Trump’s words were stirring; Obama felt like a mouse.
A populist president with a broom that swept clean,
Trump accomplished much in 2017.
Yet out past the lawn there arose such a clatter,
Pussy Hatters were yelling along with Black Lives Matter.
The Deep State pushed back – the Swamp became bitter,
They always get triggered when Trump is on Twitter.

Censorship Of Conservatives: Twitter Begins Purging Right-Leaning Accounts

Today I have received more abusive tweets and threatening messages than any other day in the past month. Congratulations on the new 'policy'. #TwitterPurge
— Craig R. Brittain for US Senate (R-AZ 2018) (@SenatorBrittain) December 18, 2017

Social media giant Twitter has begun their censorship in the form of a purge. Focusing on right-leaning accounts, Twitter has begun suspending well-known conservative users from their site.
Twitter began enforcing their new censorship rules to combat ‘hateful and abusive content’ (aka, anything not leftist in nature according to conservatives) Monday and a number of well-known far-right organizations and users were suspended. The changes to the policy were announced last month and broadened Twitter’s ‘hateful conduct policy’ to permanently suspend any account – covering usernames, profile bios, and display names – that displays ‘violent threats, multiple slurs, epithets, racist or sexist tropes, incites fear or reduces someone to less than human.’
According to Fox News, this will presumably include countless accounts bearing Nazi flags, swastikas, and similar symbols, but it certainly won’t stop there. Conservatives fear they will be shut down simply for disagreeing with the communist rhetoric Twitter allows.

NFL Network Exec Deletes Twitter Account After Graphic Conversations With Porn Stars Emerge

Earlier this week, the NFL Network and ESPN were rocked with a Harvey Weinstein-esque sexual misconduct allegation involving Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk and former Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, and 3 other stars (See: NFL Network, ESPN Suspend Faulk, McNabb And 3 Other Stars After Sexual Harassment Lawsuit).
Both networks said they are investigating the sexual allegations and that the NFL stars have been suspended. Just days after that bombshell, a low-key cleanup inside the NFL network is quietly underway, with an NFL Network Exec, who furiously deleted his Twitter interactions with prostitutes and porn stars before completely deleting his entire account.
NFL Media’s Vice President and Executive Director David Eaton, 53, spent much of Tuesday deleting years worth of Twitter conversations with and unfollowing hundreds of accounts of prostitutes and porn stars; shortly after, the entire Twitter account was deleted in the late afternoon timeframe, according to Dead Spin.

Court Filing Confirms Fusion GPS Hired DOJ Official’s CIA Wife To Dig Up Dirt On Trump

Nellie Ohr, the wife of demoted DOJ official, Bruce Ohr, not only worked for Fusion GPS, but has also represented the CIA's "Open Source Works" group. pic.twitter.com/ZPhAIzR6wv

The head of opposition research firm Fusion GPS admitted in a court filing this week that his firm paid the wife of a senior Justice Department official to help dig up damaging information on then-candidate Donald Trump.
Glenn Simpson, co-founder of Fusion GPS, filed the signed declaration in a D. C. court this week affirming that Nellie Ohr, wife of demoted DOJ official Bruce Ohr, was contracted by Fusion through the summer and fall of 2016 “to help our company with its research and analysis of Mr. Trump,” according to the filing. The House Intelligence Committee determined that in November 2016, Simpson met with Bruce Ohr shortly after the election to discuss their findings regarding Russia and Trump. Bruce Ohr lost his senior-level position at the DOJ as associate deputy attorney general after his meetings with Simpson and British spy Christopher Steele, who assembled the Trump-Russia dossier, were discovered.
And why would Fusion GPS hire Nellie Ohr? Aside from the obvious connection to her DOJ husband who was in a position to provide Fusion GPS with information on Trump gathered by US intelligence agencies, Nellie Ohr also represented the CIA’s “Open Source Works” group in a 2010 “expert working group report on international organized crime” along with Bruce Ohr and Glenn Simpson.

Sessions Exploring Special Counsel For Demoted DOJ Official Tied To Fusion GPS, CIA

Following a Tuesday call by President Trump’s outside counsel Jay Sekulow for a special counsel to investigate recently demoted DOJ Official Bruce Ohr and his wife Nellie Ohr’s contacts with opposition research firm Fusion GPS during the summer and fall of 2016, Attorney General Jeff Sessions is reportedly exploring whether or not to move forward with this option.
In a statement issued hours after Sekulow’s appearance on Fox News, Sessions said: “I’ve put a Senior Attorney, with the resources he may need, to review cases in our office and make a recommendation to me, if things aren’t being pursued that need to be pursued, if cases may need more resources to complete in a proper manner, and to recommend to me if the standards for a special counsel are met, and the recommended one should be established” according to Fox News journalist Jake Gibson via Twitter:

Trump Slams Senator Demanding His Resignation; Gillibrand Fires Back: “You Can’t Silence Me”

Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Chuck Schumer and someone who would come to my office ‘begging’ for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump. Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 12, 2017

One day after several women reincarnated the narrative of “Trump as sexual predator”, early on Tuesday morning President Trump slammed New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for coming to his office “begging” for donations, and as someone who “would do anything for them.” Trump’s attack against Gillibrand comes a day after the New York Democrat said Trump should resign from the presidency because of the renewed accusations numerous women have made against him for sexual misconduct.
Speaking to CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Gillibrand said the accusations against Trump are ‘credible’ and should be investigated, and that the president should resign. Just a few hours later, Trump was on Twitter – after taking an unexpected sabbatical from his favorite social network – and calling Gillibrand a ‘flunky’ for Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N. Y.) and a ‘lightweight’ lawmaker. He also made a reference to Gillibrand’s statement this month that President Clinton should have resigned from office, calling her “very disloyal” for the former president.

Ex-Spy Chief Admits Role In ‘Deep State’ Intelligence War On Trump

Light bulb goes off for former top CIA official: Maybe it wasn't a great idea to leak against, bash a new president. From @sbg1: pic.twitter.com/nPAe8ePwCg
— Byron York (@ByronYork) December 11, 2017

An ex-spy chief who spoke out publicly against Trump while inspiring other career intelligence figures to follow suit has admitted his leading role in the intelligence community waging political war against the president, describing his actions as something he didn’t “fully think through”. In a surprisingly frank interview, the CIA’s Michael Morell – who was longtime Deputy Director and former Acting Director of the nation’s most powerful intelligence agency – said that it wasn’t a great idea to leak against and bash a new president.
Morell had the dubious distinction of being George W. Bush’s personal daily briefer for the agency before and after 9/11, and also served under Obama until his retirement. In the summer of 2016 he took the unusual step (for a former intelligence chief) of openly endorsing Hillary Clinton in a New York Times op-ed entitled, I Ran the C. I. A. Now I’m Endorsing Hillary Clinton, after which he continued to be both an outspoken critic of Trump and an early CIA voice promoting the Russian collusion and election meddling narrative.
As Politico’s Susan Glasser put in a newly published interview, Morell “has emerged out of the shadows of the deep state”to become one of Trump’s foremost critics speaking within the intel community. However, Politico summarizes the interview as follows:

Times Square Terrorist Planned Attack For Years, Told Police “Motive Was Revenge”

— New York City Alerts (@NYCityAlerts) December 11, 2017

Updat (2 pm ET): In a harrowing account of today’s Times Square terrorist attack, the New York Post interviewed several witnesses who shared their accounts of the immediate aftermath of the attack, which triggered a small stampede out of the narrow subway tunnel where Akayed Ullah detonated his homemade pipe bombs.
‘I heard a kaboom. It was shaky,’ said Jamar Moore, 39, who was near a turnstile when he felt the explosion.
‘There was a little rumble. Everyone just hit the stairs and started running. People were losing their pocketbooks. Once we heard that pop, everybody was out.’
In the mad scramble to flee after the would-be suicide bomber’s explosive device erupted underground, people at the station were falling over each other, trampling on others and losing their shoes, Moore recalled.
‘People started getting trampled. I see about three to four people falling,’ he said.
Sarah Benelli, 35, was on an A train that had pulled into 42nd Street/Port Authority when the bomb detonated, shaking the whole train and causing frightened commuters to jump on board to try to get away.
‘I had headphones on, but I felt this rattle in my chest. I pulled the headphones out, and it sounded just like thunder. It reverberated for a couple seconds, and it was really loud,’ said the Inwood resident.
‘As I heard the rumbling, I heard people on the platform running on the train. There were a couple expletives; people were obviously scared. A few people ducked down in the train, and people were shouting to get away from the doors so the doors could close. They wanted to get out of there.’
As we noted earlier, Ullah told police that his attack was an act of vengeance against the US for bombing his home country of Bangledash.
