Despite the best efforts of our political elites to ban sodas, among other products deemed unhealthy by our growing nanny state, Americans just continue to grow ever fatter. According to a new study from the Centers for Disease Control, 40% of Americans are now obese, a new all-time record high, and over 70% are overweight. Per NBC:

Santilli Freed Under Plea Pact as Vegas Shooting Casts Shadow on Bundy Trial
LAS VEGAS – Although the ongoing Bundy trial in the U. S. District Court in Las Vegas, Nevada has had its share of dramatic changes, that’s especially true lately.
A major twist is that internet-radio personality Pete Santilli – one of seven defendants in the trial that had been set to begin with jury selection on Oct. 10th before it was delayed again -‘plead guilty (on Friday, Oct. 6) and was released pending sentencing,’ confirmed his attorney, Chris Rasmussen of Las Vegas.
In that highly anticipated trial, with Santilli now excluded due to his plea, the federal government is trying elder rancher Cliven Bundy (image, left), his sons Ammon and Ryan, and militia leader Ryan Payne. Two other defendants, O. Scott Drexler and Eric Parker, who are being retried for a third time from earlier proceedings will join the others in this second of three planned trials.
Another development is that, due to concerns that the Oct. 1st mass shooting at Mandalay Bay Hotel might prevent the defendants from getting a fair shake. According to Ryan Payne’s attorney, the Vegas shooting has the potential to bias jurors, and has asked that the trial be moved to Nevada’s second largest city, Reno, located seven hours north of Las Vegas.

Iranian General Responds To Trump: “We’ll Bury You”
At the same time as the US Treasury’s declared Iran’s powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) a terrorist organization as part of Trump’s crackdown on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, also known as Iran Nuclear Deal, a senior commander in Iran’s Quds Force, the elite overseas arm of the IRGC said that his forces have “buried many” like Donald Trump, and the US President’s threats against Iran will “damage” America.
‘We are not a war-mongering country. But any military action against Iran will be regretted … Trump’s threats against Iran will damage America … We have buried many … like Trump and know how to fight against America,’ deputy Quds commander Brigadier-General Esmail Ghaani said, cited by Tasnim news agency. The IRGC is Iran’s most powerful security entity and wields control over large swathes of Iran’s economy as well as considerable influence within its political system.
The crackdown on the IRGC came just two days after Iran’s foreign minister warned of a tough response if Trump proceeded with threats to scrap a landmark nuclear deal signed under the Obama administration. Speaking during a closed session of parliament on Wednesday, Mohammad Javad Zarif told lawmakers that Iran ‘will never renegotiate’ the deal brokered between Tehran and six world powers, Fars news agency reported.

Las Vegas Hospitals vs. “No Shooter” Conspiracy Theory
The ability of people to generate instant conspiracy theories is limited only by their capacity to live in self-induced delusion. There are no significant limits with respect to posting their theories.
I have seen so many conspiracy theories since 9/11 that I no longer am amazed at what deluded people will propose.
A member of this website suggests that no one was shot in Las Vegas. There were not multiple shooters. There were no shooters.
This, he admits, raises a problem. “I don’t think there were any shooters. All an act. But what happened to those real people is the mystery.” Indeed!
There is no mystery. Their bodies were sent to the local coroner, then to a local funeral home, then shipped to funeral homes in their home towns.
But what of 500 wounded people? They went to hospitals. Michael Rozeff writes this.
We cannot expect police in Las Vegas to come up with true accounts of the mass shooting right off the bat. They’re not equipped to do it. They have little experience doing it. Investigations take time. There are multiple authorities. There is confusion. There is not enough manpower to provide immediate answers. There are many, many people involved. The police forces are government forces, and as such they are bound to be inadequate in many ways. They’re not designed or staffed to deal with a large-scale situation like this. Hospitals were overwhelmed as a Google search reveals, and it’s reasonable to say that the capacity of police to investigate properly were and probably still are overwhelmed 9 days later. A road that’s used to light traffic will be clogged by a sudden surge in use or a peak load. Government offices and programs are not designed for peak loads or efficiency. They ration through long lines and waiting if some emergency occurs. Police were overwhelmed in Houston, and we can imagine the pressures placed on them in Las Vegas.
