Health Care Reform Dead

‘Delay is preferable to error,’ said old Tom Jefferson.
Apparently Republicans agree…
At 3:37 this afternoon The Washington Post announced:
House Republican leaders abruptly pulled a Republican rewrite of the nation’s health care system from consideration on Friday, a dramatic acknowledgment that they are so far unable to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
‘We just pulled it,’ Trump confirmed.
All the last-minute horse swaps and arm twists just couldn’t persuade enough ladies and gentlemen of the jury.
It would have only taken 21 Republican ‘nays’ to sink the bill.
And at least 30 House Republicans leaned nay, according to the latest nose count. It proved too harsh for some. Not harsh enough for others.
Obamacare lives – for now at least. And maybe for good unless the GOP can herd enough cats.

The U.S. Has the Most Expensive Healthcare System in the World

For many years now, the American healthcare system has been flawed. As our chart illustrates, U. S. health spending per capita (including public and private spending) is higher than it is anywhere else in the world, and yet, the country lags behind other nations in several aspects such as life expectancy and health insurance coverage.

“They’re Like The Praetorian Guard” – Whistleblower Confirms NSA Targeted Congress, The Supreme Court, & Trump

Authored by Chris Menahan via InformationLiberation.com,
NSA whistleblower William Binney told Tucker Carlson on Friday that the NSA is spying on “all the members of the Supreme Court, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Congress, both House and Senate, as well as the White House.”
Binney, who served the NSA for 30 years before blowing the whistle on domestic spying in 2001, told Tucker he firmly believes that Trump was spied on.
“They’re taking in fundamentally the entire fiber network inside the United States and collecting all that data and storing it, in a program they call Stellar Wind,” Binney said. “That’s the domestic collection of data on US citizens, US citizens to other US citizens,” he said. “Everything we’re doing, phone calls, emails and then financial transactions, credit cards, things like that, all of it.”

Turkish Hackers Threaten To Wipe Millions Of iPhones; Demand Ransom From Apple

Apple can’t seem to catch a break lately. Yesterday we noted the latest WikiLeaks release which exposed yet another CIA spying scandal, this time revolving around efforts to bug “factory fresh” iPhones before they even reach the hands of consumers (see “Wikileaks Releases “NightSkies 1.2”: Proof CIA Bugs “Factory Fresh” iPhones“).
Also included in this release is the manual for the CIA’s “NightSkies 1.2” a “beacon/loader/implant tool” for the Apple iPhone. Noteworthy is that NightSkies had reached 1.2 by 2008, and is expressly designed to be physically installed onto factory fresh iPhones. i.e the CIA has been infecting the iPhone supply chain of its targets since at least 2008. While CIA assets are sometimes used to physically infect systems in the custody of a target it is likely that many CIA physical access attacks have infected the targeted organization’s supply chain including by interdicting mail orders and other shipments (opening, infecting, and resending) leaving the United States or otherwise.
Today, courtesy of CIO, we learn that a group of hackers referring to themselves as the “Turkish Crime Family”, has been in direct contact with Apple and is demanding a $150,000 ransom by April 7th or they will proceed to wipe as many as 600 million apple devices for which they allegedly have passwords.

Caught On Video: Mass Panic Strikes Bellagio As Robbers In Pig Masks Open Fire Inside Rolex Store

Mass panic struck the Bellagio early this morning as three pig-masked, armed robbers decided to try to knock off the Rolex store just as a bunch of drunk guests were stumbling home from their night of general debauchery. Luckily, the dulled senses of these plastered guests allowed them the courage to film the whole scene rather than duck for cover so we’re able to present the whole dumbed-down version of an Ocean’s Eleven remake in real time.
According to media reports, at least three people entered the Rolex store inside the Bellagio in the wee hours of Saturday morning. The robbers apparently used sledgehammers to break through the glass entrance of the store. While initial reports indicated that shots were fired, police subsequently confirmed those reports to be false.
The whole scene was captured on video here.
