How my friend took the simplest path to foreign residency

I could get used to this.
As I told you yesterday, I spend part of the summer each year at a centuries-old villa in a storied pocket of Italy. And I invite some of the most brilliant and productive people on the planet, most of whom I’ve met traveling the world over the last decade.
Italy has a way of making people expansive – past the handmade pasta we eat every night. Looking over the rolling Umbrian hills, we chat over Chianina beef, local wine, and fresh fruit each night – exchanging ideas and inspiring new ones.
So we were happy when our friend Ryan joined us on Monday.
Ryan is another brilliant and creative redhead, like the Zac the Mad Scientist I told you about yesterday. Ryan is a digital marketing guru, serving clients all over the world.
He’s less manic than Zac… so far, no psychedelic sexual lubricants in his product arsenal… but every bit as shrewd.
Ryan, like most successful people I know, is a master at creating opportunities for himself.

Having ‘terminated’ his first White House leaker yesterday, President Trump’s newly-minted comms director has wasted no time in making many feel uncomfortable in the their roles (and rightly so).
Speaking on Fox News, The Hill reports that Scaramucci said that “political holdovers” from the Obama White House “aren’t helping,” and hinted that more staff changes could be on the way.
“Listen, we have to crack down on leaks on a number of different fronts,” Scaramucci told “Fox and Friends.”

On Twitter today, President Donald Trump announced that he will ban transgender people from serving in the US military – in any capacity.
The move reverses Barack Obama’s previous decision to allow transgender personnel from serving.
Trump explained the practical dillemas in being forced to cater to the progressive gender agenda:
‘After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U. S. Military.’ Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail.’

America has been a discouraging landscape ever since the neoconservatives took over US foreign policy during the Clinton regime and started the two decades of war crimes that define 21st century America and ever since US corporations betrayed the US work force by moving American jobs to Asia.
The outlook became darker when the Obama regime resurrected the Russian Threat and elevated the prospect of military conflict between the nuclear powers.
As Europe is caught in the middle, in normal circumstances European countries would have insisted that Washington cease the gratuitous provocations of Russia. But normal circumstances have not existed. Since the end of WW2, European countries have been vassals without independent economic and foreign policies.
Europe hosts US military bases that threaten Russia. Europe has backed Washington’s wars of aggression against Serbia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Washington’s air attacks on provinces of Pakistan, and Washington’s use of Saudi Arabia to fight its proxy war against Yemen.

Before we get started, it’s important for me to clarify where I’m coming from politically. First, here’s what I’m not, as described in last year’s piece, Thank You and Welcome New Readers – A Liberty Blitzkrieg Mission Statement:
I am not a Democrat or a Republican. I do not consider myself a libertarian, progressive, socialist, anarchist, conservative, neoconservative or neoliberal. I’m just a 38 year old guy trying to figure it all out. Naturally, this doesn’t imply that there aren’t things which I hold dear. I have a strong belief system based on key principles. It’s just that I don’t think it makes sense for me to self-label and become part of a tribe. The moment you self-label, is the moment you stop thinking for yourself. It’s also the moment you stop listening. When you think you have all the answers, anyone who doesn’t think exactly as you do on all topics is either stupid or ‘paid opposition.’ I don’t subscribe to this way of thinking.
If I had to describe my politics at the most macro level, I guess you could call me a decentralist. I believe the primary threat to human liberty, happiness and evolution is the concentration of power, whether it manifests in government or business.

Senate Chaos Returns: Six Hours After Major GOP Victory, “Repeal And Replace” Is Voted Down

If this is what passes for a legislative victory in the Trump administration, the president may be in trouble.
Less than a day after the Senate GOP leadership mustered the minimum number of Republican votes necessary to begin debate on a bill to repeal Obamacare (and even then thanks only to a tiebreaking vote by Vice President Mike Pence), the Republican campaign to kill the legislation remains in chaos.
Just six hours after the successful vote to proceed, the Senate overwhelmingly rejected a plan to repeal and replace Obamacare, voting 43-57 against with 9 Republicans joining Democrats in the process. That plan requires 60 votes to pass because of its impact on the budget deficit, and without support from Democrats, that bill has a 0% chance of survival. The failed vote has dashed Republican hopes of replacing Obamacare with another plan.

A former pastor from Michigan discovered the hard way informing people of their rights under the law as jurors doesn’t sit well with the U. S. government when a judge sentenced him Friday to eight weekends in jail, six months of probation, and fines – all for passing out pamphlets discussing jury nullification.
Keith Wood contends passing out the information is well within his constitutional rights to inform potential and selected jurors that, enshrined in the Bill of Rights lies the potent ability to find a defendant not guilty if the law in question is unjust, flawed, or otherwise untenable – even if the accused indeed technically violated.
Jury nullification thus arguably acts as citizens’ access to checks and balances: When legislators craft worthless, harmful, inequitable, or just plain ‘bad’ laws, jurors can, in essence, refuse to enforce any punitive measures – refusing to find a person guilty of breaking a law that never should have been inked into the books.

CIA And Sen Marco Rubio Accused Of Plotting Regime Change In Venezuela

Venezuela’s leftist dictator Nicolas Maduro plans to proceed with a vote to create a new constituent assembly to replace the country’s opposition-controlled Congress with a friendly constituent assembly, potentially enabling the embattled despot to redraft the country’s constitution and officially marginalize his political opponents, despite the US’s repeated threats of ‘strong and swift economic action.”
In response to the US’s threats of sanctions, the country’s senior leadership have accused Sen. Marco Rubio and CIA Director Mike Pompeo of “conspiring to overthrow” the country’s floundering leftist government and replace it with a friendlier regime, according to the Miami Herald. The escalation belies the healthy business relationship between the two countries, which is centered on the US’s purchases of hundreds of thousands of barrels of Venezuelan oil a day.
‘What this group is trying to do with Venezuela is basically divide the government, recognize other leaders and foment a conflict with the Venezuelans,’ said Carlos Ron, the charg d’affaires of the Embassy of Venezuela, to a small group of reporters in Washington on Tuesday. ‘This is absolutely unacceptable.’
Ron added that the American people are not hearing the full story and accused the US of unfairly attacking the country’s democratically elected government. Of course, opposition leaders are calling for protests at the country’s polling places to try and disrupt the July 30 vote, which is widely expected to be a sham.
