CIA’s Revenge: National Security State vs. The Public’s Right to Know – Scapegoating Whistleblower Jeffrey Sterling

21st Century Wire says…
After all the grandstanding and platitudes spoken by western leader after the Charlie Hebdo Attack last week, the real crimes against the free press and free speech continue at the hands of the US government and its NATO allies in Europe – who all appear to be above the law (or whatever version of the law their lawyers-for-hire are selling today).
This week of the trial of former CIA officer Jeffrey Sterling goes into full-swing. Sterling is accused of leaking ‘classified’ information exposing a bogus international operation, and for providing information to New York Times reporter James Risen, author of State of War, about what quislings in government claim was ‘intended to impede Iran’s efforts to acquire or develop nuclear weapons,’ which Risen detailed in his book, State of War. charged with committing ten felonies, seven of which fall under the Espionage Act.
Incredibly, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice also took the stand to testify about how President George W. Bush instructed her to make the New York Times kill their investigation in ‘Operation Merlin’, and subsequent story about that CIA operation.
High drama on all fronts, which is certain to showcase the US government’s desire to cover-up it’s criminal acts and methods, while attempting to demonize and punish anyone who dares stand in its way…
